HTA is the multidisciplinary process that uses scientific methods to determine the value of a health technology. This value is related to the context of the use of the technology. The purpose of HTA/HEOR is to substantiate decision making regarding necessary choices in health care companies and organisations. Such choices are relevant at different points in the lifecycle of a technology, for instance during early development of innovation, but also during the phase of decision making regarding application and implementation of the technology.
